Institutional Leadership

Leadership at BU

Evan plays an active role in shaping Boston University’s academic and strategy decisions. He will serve as Chair of Boston University’s Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure Committee (UAPT) in 2026–27 and 2027–28, leading a 16‑member senior faculty committee that advises the Provost on tenure, promotion, and senior appointments on the Charles River Campus.

Beyond promotion and tenure, Evan has contributed to Boston University’s long-term strategy and governance. He has served on the university’s Strategic Planning Taskforce charged with charting the 2030 vision and strategy for BU, and has chaired multiple university-level committees focused on institutional priorities and faculty affairs. At Questrom, he serves as Research Director of the Human Resources Policy Institute, where he helps connect cutting-edge research on work, leadership, and organizational practices with senior HR and business leaders.

Together, these roles underscore that Evan does not just study fairness, leadership, and organizational systems from the outside; he also helps design and refine the processes by which a major research university evaluates faculty, allocates opportunities, and plans for its future.
